Cancéropôle IDF missions

It is a leading player for cancer patient management in France. Île-de-France is also the leading region for cancer research. With its research work, clinical trials, scientific publications ... Île-de-France represents over 42% of national research and care strengths. Cancéropôle Île-de-France structures this network by promoting the pooling of knowledge, skills and resources between Paris institutions involved in cancer research.

CANCÉROPÔLE ILE-DE-FRANCE MISSIONS :

  • Group cancer research skills and means in Île-de-France
  • Strengthen the research-care continuum through close association between clinical (bedside) and preclinical (laboratory) research
  • Promote the development of innovative research programmes
  • Develop industrial partnerships

Structure cancer research in the Paris region

Networking cancer research teams in the Paris region is associated with an operational structure for cancer research programmes. In 2011, Cancéropôle Île-de-France thus managed 800 agreements corresponding to 280 cancer research projects. Recurring calls for tenders (doctoral, post-doctoral, and facility grants) as well as calls for proposals help finance research through funding from the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) and the Île-de-France Region.

Identify innovative research programmes

Establishing working groups on emerging themes in cancer research helps organise and finance transversal research programmes involving research teams from the various institutions. These collaborations have already helped generate knowledge to enhance and improve cancer patient care.

Manage the cancer research network

Cancéropôle Île-de-France's activity structure is an essential tool for the network's operation: it particularly helps organise seminars and conferences, disseminate calls for tenders and information relating to cancer research, and implement innovative Research training.
