OUR ACTIONS

The Cancéropôle Île-de-France helps to structure the network of researchers, clinicians, industrialists and patients involved in cancer research, by encouraging the pooling of knowledge, skills and resources between institutions in the Paris region involved in cancer research.

The actions implemented are designed to encourage the emergence of new interdisciplinary collaborations, promote the implementation of innovative cross-disciplinary programs and disseminate knowledge.

  • Structuring: organization of calls for projects and creation of thematic working groups
  • Events: organization of conferences and seminars
  • Support: training, practical resources and administrative management.

Training and support

One of our major missions is to accompany researchers in our region. To support as many of its researchers as possible, Cancéropôle Île-de-France offers clinicians and researchers training courses and practical tools to help them improve their practices.

Training courses:

In face-to-face or in MOOC format, they aim to provide researchers in the Paris region working in the field of cancer with new skills.

Cancéropôle Île-de-France has been a certified training organization since summer 2017. Once your registration for one of our training courses has been validated, you will be asked to sign a training agreement with your employing organization.

The current training courses cover the following subjects :

  • MOOC NGS & Cancer – RNAseq analysis (bulk) : This 8-week self-paced online training course introduces you to the analysis of bulk RNA-seq data with R Studio, using the example of differential gene expression analysis. An optional one-day face-to-face refresher course will enable a limited number of participants to go back over certain points of the course, applied to their own data.
  • MOOC NGS & Cancer – Single Cell RNAseq Analysis : This 8-week self-paced online course is designed to introduce you to the analysis of single-cell RNA-seq data using R Studio. An optional one-day face-to-face refresher course will enable a limited number of participants to go back over certain points of the course, applied to their own data.

Practical tools:

Developed by the thematic working groups of the Canceropôle IDF, they are available only on the French version of our website. They include :

  • List of rare cancers : the Cancers and Rare Tumors group has worked to define and list the different types of rare cancers identified. This list served as the basis for the creation of the directory of researchers, and is also used in the France Genomic Medicine 2025 Plan for the “cancers and rare tumors” preindication.
  • Directory of rare cancer researchers : the working group has set up a directory of Ile-de-France researchers working on rare cancers, to facilitate networking between research teams and improve their visibility.
  • Platforms directory : the Technologies and Synergies working group has carried out a survey of Ile-de-France technology platforms working in the field of cancer research. The platforms identified have been grouped together in a directory made available to the Ile-de-France community.
  • Video tutorials in bioinformatics : this program will give you an introduction to using the Galaxy tool for NGS-type bioinformatics processing. The topics covered will cover the full range of processing operations likely to be carried out in cancer research projects: DNA-Seq, RNA-Seq, epigenomic analyses, use of NGS databases or genome viewers.
  • Data integration: The Cancéropôle IDF Geocancer working group has produced a tutorial to explain SHRINE solutions for data integration in oncology.
